I recently spent the weekend in Chicago for a wedding and an engagement session. Amy + Erick were married in Chicago at the end of April. I first got to know Amy + Erick when I went to Chicago last year for their engagement session. They wanted their engagement session on North Avenue beach with the beautiful Chicago skyline in the background. You can view their adorable session here. I knew after working with them that day that they were such wonderful people, and I knew they were going to have an amazing wedding. It was a stunning Westin Chicago Northwest Wedding!
Amy + Erick held their wedding at The Westin Chicago Northwest. The Westin is in Itasca, a suburb of Chicago. It is a beautiful 12 story building with a modern look and feel. It boasts an attached tented area specifically for wedding receptions. Amy + Erick originally planned on an outdoor ceremony, however the day of their wedding it decided to snow. And not just snow a little; I’m talking 8 or more inches of snow! The snow was definitely unexpected, but all the vendors were able to work around it seamlessly. Amy found an indoor greenhouse called Wilder Conservatory where we were able to do their formal photos. I am so thankful that they found this little gem. Amy + Erick’s wedding had such a spring time, garden feel, and I feel that the indoor greenhouse really added to their photos much better than the early spring deadness of the outdoors would have. It was interesting because it was a tiny greenhouse and not only was it prom weekend in Chicago so kids were in and out, but another wedding showed up at the same time we were there. But it all worked out in the end and we were able to get some really beautiful photos for Amy + Erick. I loved everything about their wedding; from the florals to decor, the dress and details. They really did a fantastic job of bringing everything together into the spring garden feel they envisioned. We had the best time working with Amy + Erick, and we wish them all the best for their future together.
