Wisconsin Maternity Photographer: Des + Ben recently welcomed their new baby boy into the world, so it is a fitting time to share their fall maternity session in Wausau! Des is a friend and the owner of Lash Doll in Plover. I met Des through chance back in 2016; I had placed a model call for an editorial shoot in Door County. Des was one of hundreds of applicants I received. Her look fit our vision, so we picked her. She was so sweet, kind, and funny, and we all had a blast working together. That editorial ended up in print in Wisconsin Bride Magazine and on Joy Wed (you can view the publication here). She has worked with me as a makeup artist on other shoots since (including this shoot featured on JoyWed). Des + Ben also had their anniversary session we shot together with their adorable alpacas published on Green Wedding Shoes (view that publication here). You could say Des is a little bit of a publication celebrity for us!
We stayed in touch, and today I consider her a friend. I love her silly, joyful personality. When she reached out for maternity photos, I was ecstatic! Des + Ben had been waiting many years for their little one, and I was thrilled to be able to share this wonderful experience with them. It was a beautiful fall evening, with that glowing fall light we long for all year. It really couldn’t have been a more perfect day for their session. We are so happy for Des + Ben and their new baby boy!
