I’m back from my vacation now and trying to catch up on some blogging! I always take off a few weekend in July to catch my breath and spend some quality summer time with my family. Taylor + Taki were married the day before my vacation started, so I haven’t had a chance to put their beautiful wedding up on the blog until today. They held their wedding at Memorial Union on the UW Madison campus. Their ceremony was held in the main lounge, and their reception took place in the great hall. I had never been inside any of the UW Madison campus until their engagement session and wedding. There are so many beautiful buildings on campus. And the Great Hall was no exception. It was a lovely Downtown Madison Wedding!
I first got to know Taylor + Taki when we wandered around Madison for their engagement session last fall. It was my first time getting to take photos in front of the capital building. Taylor + Taki love Madison, and they knew so many great places to go for photos. Taylor used to work in the Capital building, so she was super familiar with all the great photo opportunities. On their wedding day, we got to go to the capital again for photos with them and their wedding party. I loved being able to have the opportunity to photograph a wedding party in front of the capital; it’s been on my photo bucket list for a while now. We also got to use the areas outside of Memorial Union, which were just as beautiful. Union terrace behind Memorial Union is a lovely area on the water with beautiful docks, great food and live music! We got to wander a bit there as well before the rains came in. I’m so thankful that Taylor + Taki gave us a chance to wander the great downtown area of Madison and get to know our capital a little better. I’ve never had the opportunity to explore it as much as I did with them. Taylor + Taki’s wedding was beautiful, just like the two of them. It was a wonderful experience, and we wish them all the best for their futures together!
