Ben + Hannah were married in Door County in late June 2018. Their wedding was the second of a record-breaking temperatures, double wedding weekend for us. Hannah + Ben held their ceremony at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay, while their reception was held at the Landmark Resort in Egg Harbor. I absolutely love Door County. There’s just something about the area that draws me in every time. Maybe it’s the coastal feel, or the quaint towns, or beautiful scenery. Maybe it’s everything combined. I just love being in the area, and I especially love photographing weddings in Door County. There are so many magnificent landscapes in Door County that make for amazing photos. It was an amazing Landmark Resort Egg Harbor Wedding!
Ben + Hannah chose a beautiful, neutral theme for their wedding. It was classic and organic with elegant touches all around. Hannah wore an amazing open back gown encrusted with jewels. I loved her gown because the front was simple, chic, and modern, while the back was like a completely different gown. The gown seemed to display both sides of Hannah in it’s design; poised and elegant yet wild and stunning. It was like that gown was made just for her. Ben wore his Marine Corp uniform which looked amazing along side Hannah’s gown. Hannah’s bridesmaids wore stunning gray-blue one shoulder gowns that paired perfectly with their bouquets filled with soft whites and greens.
We stopped at Frank E. Murphy park on the way to the Landmark resort for wedding party formals. It was over 100 degrees, and with the park being on the water, it was just insanely busy. I took a few minutes to explore the area a bit, and found a perfect spot away from the crowds that was just large enough to fit the entire wedding party in. To the naked eye it didn’t look like much, but it had beautiful light. Light will make or break an image, so for me it’s always, always light over location. Almost any location can look amazing as long as there is great light. It was so hot, but everyone in the wedding party did such a wonderful job getting through formals while keeping things fun. We had a wonderful time at Ben + Hannah’s wedding, and we wish them all the best for their future together!
