Get ready for a stunning Cave Point Door County Engagement session! When Andrea emailed me asking if I’d be willing to travel to Door County to do her engagement session with Tyler at Cave Point, I immediately said yes! Door County is my favorite place in Wisconsin (cliche, I know). I love the ocean, and their are places in Door County that feel like the coast. Any time I visit the ocean, I feel like I am home. My favorite of those places in Door County is Whitefish Dunes State Park, which is right next to Cave Point. If you haven’t been to Whitefish Dunes, you definitely need to go. As it’s name suggests, it features stunning sand dunes, white sand beaches, and the blue waters of Lake Michigan. It truly feels like the ocean. I did an editorial at Whitefish Dunes in 2016 that was published in the film-exclusive magazine, Wedding Sparrow. The images turned out better than I could have imagined, and to date it is still my favorite editorial I’ve ever done. You can view that feature here.
I had such a great time getting to know Andrea + Tyler better. They are both so easy to talk to, and they are truly in love with each other. That always makes my job a bit easier! And, I love the effort that Andrea put in to her and Tyler’s outfits. She emailed me multiple times asking for my opinion on different gown colors and styles. She stuck to the “rules” of my photography style 100%, and her images show why it’s so important to follow the “rules”. My style photographs well with lighter neutral colors, flowing fabrics, florals, and neutral colored backgrounds. And Andrea nailed it all. I had made a bouquet for a personal project the day before their session, so I reached out to Andrea wondering if they’d like to use it for their session. Luckily she said yes, and I think the bouquet matched their style and outfits so perfectly! I hope to soon be offering bespoke bouquets as an add-on option for engagement sessions. I absolutely love the way Andrea + Tyler’s session turned out (if you haven’t noticed all my gushing in this post!). Andrea + Tyler will be married in Green Bay in February 2019, and I absolutely can’t wait for their wedding!
