Ok everyone. This is the first year I’ve done a “Top 9”. These are my favorite film images from 2016. It was such a wonderful, busy year for us. We were blessed to shoot so many beautiful engagements and weddings this year. I’ll run through some details below about every image shown. I hope you enjoy these beautiful memories as much as I do!
George + Zar
I first met George + Zar back in 2014 when I photographed their wedding. They are such an amazingly sweet couple, and their wedding is still one of the most fun weddings I’ve ever photographed. I needed a married couple for a styled anniversary session in May of this year, and George + Zar volunteered. It was right before their 2 year anniversary, so it was very fitting that they were my anniversary session models.
Angela + John
I didn’t get a chance to meet Angela + John until the day of their wedding at The Waters Oshkosh. They live in Chicago, so making the trip up to Wausau just wasn’t in the cards. I spoke to Angela on the phone about their wedding, and I was so excited. She had beautiful plans for the day, and I just knew they would both be super sweet. Their wedding was in early August of 2016. It was a beautiful, sunny day. Right before sunset, we headed out on The Waters property to capture some truly stunning images of the two of them. They have such great chemistry with each other, so capturing natural portraits of them was so easy. Angela + John’s wedding was feature on Wisconsin Bride.
Andy + Hannah
Andy + Hannah were another couple that I didn’t get a chance to meet before their wedding day. They were both really laid back, sweet people. They were married in late May of 2016. Their wedding was so full of love, and everyone was so kind. For this shot, I took them outside behind their venue as the sun was setting for a few beautiful, intimate film shots. The photos turned out just stunning.
Allison + Eric
Allison + Eric live in Colorado, and drove all the way to Wisconsin for their engagement session. I felt so bad because it was raining and so gloomy the day of their session. But Allison + Eric didn’t seem to mind. Their connection to each other was so apparent; they way they looked at one another told the story of their love. Their wedding was in mid June 2016 at Holiday Acres Resort in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Every single part of their wedding day was so personal and unique. It was one of my absolute all time favorite weddings, because of the love you could just feel radiating from not only them, but from every person that attended their wedding. Allison + Eric wedding was published in Style Me Pretty, and will also be featured in print in January 2017.
Brittney + Shahn
I wanted to do a styled engagement shoot in a blooming apple orchard this past spring. I set up a model call, and Brittney + Shahn reached out to me to be models for the shoot. It worked out well because they were engaged, and set to be married in just a month. So it really was a real engagement session! I hadn’t met them prior to the shoot, but they turned out to be the sweetest couple ever. They were so kind, and their connection with each other was so immediately seen. I feel so blessed that they reached out to be a part of this shoot. The shoot was published in Belle Lumière.
Amy & Carl
Amy + Carl were married at the beautiful SentryWorld in Stevens Point in early November 2016. I met Amy + Carl in the spring when I shot their lovely engagement session in Downtown Wausau. They are definitely one of the most stylish couples I’ve ever met. So I knew that every detail of their wedding would be impeccably styled. Their wedding was so elegant, and so much fun. You could just feel the love and joy from everyone at their wedding. Amy + Carl’s wedding will be featured in Wisconsin Bride.
Kayla + Zac
Kayla + Zac were married in Sturgeon Bay, Door County in July of 2016. Their wedding was colorful and unique. I first met Kayla + Zac when I shot their engagement session in the fall of 2015. They were quiet, but so sweet. And they both totally look like models! They are so amazing at posing and making it look so natural and loving. We took them out on the docks of Sturgeon Bay at sunset for some truly stunning images.
Allison + Eric
I had to include one more shot from Allison + Eric’s wedding, because I absolutely love the stunning back details on Allison’s gown. So beautiful!
Kayleigh + Jerrod
Kayleigh + Jerrod were married in June 2016 in a lovely backyard ceremony. Their home is on the beautiful Eau Claire River, so they decided it was the perfect place for their wedding ceremony. It was so hot that day; the hottest day I ever remember having in June of any other year. But Kayleigh + Jerrod were troopers, and stuck out the heat to capture some amazing images in their own backyard.
