I’m so excited to share Jerrod & Kayleigh’s Rustic Backyard Wisconsin Wedding on the blog today!
Jerrod & Kayleigh are two of the cutest, sweetest people I’ve ever met. Kayleigh works as a nurse, and Jerrod a firefighter. What an awesome combination! They are so much alike in their desire to help others. I first got to know them at their engagement session this past fall. It was a beautiful day; one of those days where you can smell the fresh fallen leaves, but it’s still warm enough that it doesn’t quite seem like summer is over. We shot their session at the Dells of the Eau Claire. They incorporated unique elements from their careers into the session, and it turned out so adorable!
They planned for an early summer, Rustic Backyard Wisconsin Wedding. Jerrod & Kayleigh live on a peaceful stretch of the Eau Claire River. They have an amazingly beautiful backyard, and the river flows right at the edge of it. So they decided that their home would be the perfect place for the ceremony. And it really was! Their beautifully landscaped yard, along with the towering trees, and the winding river made for such a gorgeous backdrop to their ceremony. An arbor decorated with peonies served as their alter. Kayleigh chose fresh early summer peonies dashed with babies breath and sweet blush pink florals for her bouquet. It was so delicate and feminine, and went so well with her stunning lace gown. Jerrod & Kayleigh’s ceremony was light, fun, and full of love and laughter.
I was so glad that we were able to use their property for the bride & groom portraits, as well as the family portraits. If you know me, you know I just love shooting family portraits for the wedding days in an outdoor setting. The property was perfect and the light was stunning. We ended up with so many amazing shots of the two of them together.
Jerrod & Kayleigh’s reception was held at Stoney Creek in Rothschild. Stoney Creek has the ability to cater to a rustic themed wedding so well. Spring florals graced the reception as well, along with an adorable two tiered cream cake with a too cute topper which said “You are my greatest adventure”. How sweet is that!? As we walked out at the end of our time with all of our gear in tow, we came into the parking lot and the most gorgeous sunset ever was taking place! I rushed back inside to get Jerrod & Kayleigh and re-set up my gear so we could get a few great shots of them together with the amazing sunset behind them. I am SO glad we did that, because those images turned out absolutely perfect! It was such a fun, beautiful day, and I am so grateful that I was able to work with Jerrod, Kayleigh, and their wonderful family and friends.
