Greg + Karen chose Saturday, June 4th, 2016 for the wedding date. St Paul Catholic Church in Mosinee served as their ceremony location, while the ever beautiful Sundance Chalet on Rib Mountain served as their reception venue. Their Rib Mountain Wausau Wedding was so beautiful and so much fun!
The Bride and Groom
I first met Greg & Karen last summer when they booked us for their engagement and wedding photography. The first time we really got to know each other was during their engagement session in the Wausau area this past summer. They were so adorable together, and we all had a blast on that beautiful summer day. Greg + Karen live in Milwaukee, and traveled here for their engagement session. I always feel so special when my couples travel to come see me!
The Ceremony
Greg + Karen were married at the amazing St Paul’s Catholic Church in Mosinee. St Paul was renovated a few years back, and it is just so beautiful inside. It is one of the few churches in the area that has amazing natural light in the sanctuary. The whole church is spectacular.
The day of Greg + Karen’s wedding, the forecast was not cooperative; it called for rain and storms all day long. We always plan ahead when we know there will be rain, so we were prepared. But rain isn’t my favorite thing. The morning of the wedding, it was actually pretty nice out, but as soon as we stepped out of the church to head outside for their formals, it started raining! We still traveled up to Rib Mountain, because Greg + Karen were awesome and said they were fine with getting a little wet! One of the amazing bridesmaids even helped us out by keeping an umbrella over the bride + groom in between shots. All in all, we didn’t get too wet, and we got some beautiful shots.
The Wedding Reception
Greg + Karen’s wedding reception was held at the Sundance Chalet in Wausau Wisconsin. The Sundance Chalet is one of my favorite local venues. It is simple yet elegant. And it has perfect natural light! Greg + Karen decorated the space in their colors of navy and coral. They kept the decor minimal to keep the focus on the day. We got lucky, and right around sunset, the skies cleared and the sun came out. You guys know how much I love sunset photos! We were able to grab a few more amazing shots of Greg & Karen, and it was a perfect way to end the day.
