I’ll be the first to admit that I have been terrible at blogging lately. The busy summer season has officially caught with me, and I’m hustling to keep up with it! But I promise I’ll be blogging as many weddings as I can! We’ll start off the catching up with Birch + Megan’s Fish Creek Wedding. Fish Creek Wedding Photographer.
Birch + Megan eloped in Door County back in late June. I first got to meet them at their Rib Mountain engagement session this past fall; you can view images from their session here. They had their ceremony on the lake in the small town of Fish Creek. Fish Creek is one of my favorite places in Door County. It’s so quaint and small, and has so many beautiful places to visit. Megan got ready for the day at the adorable Whistling Swan in Fish Creek. According to their website, Whistling Swan Inn is the Door Peninsula’s oldest operating inn. It was actually originally built in Marinette in 1887, but was moved across the ice in 1907 by horse teams. How incredible is that?! It is absolutely stunning, and I definitely suggest a visit if you’re in the area.
Birch + Megan’s ceremony was held at the Eagle Bluff Lighthouse in Fish Creek. Eagle Bluff Lighthouse was built in 1868. The lighthouse lamp has been operational for 145 years, and remains so today. It is an amazing historic site to visit and is situated on a lovely wooded property. Birch + Megan’s ceremony was set up overlooking Green Bay (the actual bay, not the city!). It was a gloomy, cold, windy, rainy day, but luckily the rain stopped just before the ceremony. Throughout the day, the weather cleared more, and by evening we had an actual sunset for photos! I love small, intimate weddings like Birch + Megans. We had a blast driving around Door County and getting to see and photograph some truly amazing locations.
