This was definitely a wedding to remember! Allison & Eric were married on an beautiful day in early June 2016 at Holiday Acres Resort in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Allison & Eric reside in Colorado, and traveled to Wisconsin for their wedding. Allison grew up spending summers at Holiday Acres with her family, and the first place Eric ever met her family was at the resort; it holds many precious memories for her and Eric. It only made sense to have the wedding at a place that has brought so much love and joy to their family for many years. It was the perfect day for a Holiday Acres Resort Rhinelander wedding!
If you aren’t familiar with Holiday Acres Resort, I highly suggest checking them out! This was my first visit there, but it certainly won’t be the last. The resort is nestled far back in the Northwoods of Wisconsin situated on the ever beautiful Lake Thompson. Holiday Acres has been a vacation destination for over 60 years. For accommodations, it boasts multiple vacation homes, a lodge with guest rooms, and a wide variety of one to four bedroom cabins. Summer activities include horseback riding; rentals of boats, jet skis, canoes, and kayaks; outdoor sports, fishing, swimming, hiking, and more. It is truly a dream resort for those who love being in the outdoors.
The ceremony took place outdoors, overlooking the lake in the late afternoon. The arch they were married under was made of birch, and blended beautifully with the tall pines surrounding the ceremony site. Allison’s bridesmaid’s wore stunning knee length sage green gowns, while the men wore gray suit pants with white button downs and the coolest suspenders! The florals were absolutely stunning. They were wild yet elegant; neutral with small pops of color. Their ceremony was one of the most emotional I have ever been lucky enough to witness. Sometimes at weddings, you can literally feel all the love around you from everyone in attendance, and this was definitely one of those times. It’s a feeling unlike any other.
The reception was held in a beautiful tent on the grounds. Allison & Eric decorated with amazing vintage touches, and little bits of their lives together. They both love skiing and love to travel, so they incorporated small elements of their adventures into their decor. Their naked cake was absolutely stunning, and pulled together their decor beautifully. We were able to sneak away after dinner to get some amazing golden hour shots of just the two of them. We really had such an amazing time at Allison & Eric’s wedding. They and their families and friends were some of the most genuine, kind, loving people we have ever had the honor of working with.
