Ryan + Sarah were married in early January 2018. They held their ceremony at Mission Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wausau, while their reception was at the beautiful Jefferson Street Inn in Downtown Wausau. It was a beautiful Jefferson Street Inn Winter Wedding! It was another super cold Wisconsin day; the temperatures were barley above zero. Since December, we’ve done five weddings with below-zero temperatures. That’s definitely a record! We shot Ryan + Sarah’s engagement session this past summer, so it was definitely a huge change in temperatures since the last time I’d seen them. We shot their engagement session partly on their family’s property in Athens. It had such a cute barn on the property and was so lovely.
Ryan + Sarah chose lovely purple and white winter florals for their main styling. Fawn from Inspired by Nature did an amazing job on the florals, as always. For her something blue, Sarah wore a dark blue pair of my absolute favorite style of Badgley Mischka shoes. Ryan + Sarah opted to have their ceremony a bit later in the day, so by the time we were done with the reception line, the sun had already set. They didn’t do a first look, so we weren’t able to do their portraits together before the ceremony. But we are always improvising! We went outside for three minutes to shoot (I’m not exaggerating either; it was three minutes!) and luckily had just enough light to capture a few outside images. Ryan + Sarah wanted to do night photos in Downtown Wausau for their main portraits. After dinner, we took Ryan + Sarah outside on 3rd Street in Wausau for their night portraits. We were able to get our lighting set up and get all the shots we needed in under five minutes. We had to be fast so they didn’t freeze! I’m glad we were able to get them outside for portraits. It was such a lovely wedding, and we had so much fun being a part of it!
