The last few years, I ring in the New Year by celebrating with my lovely couples at their weddings. I love New Year’s Eve weddings; all the sparkles, the celebration, and the fun! Dan & Lauren chose the historic Mabel Tainter Theater for their wedding ceremony. The theater was built in 1889. Dan bears the last name of whom the theater was built and named for; Mabel Tainter. Dan is a distant relative of Mabel, so it was fitting that Dan & Lauren marry at the historic theater. The theater was built in the grand Victorian style. The interior boasts incredibly intricate woodwork, marble floors, gilded walls and ceilings, arches, columns, and more; and is complete with Victorian style furnishings. The walls and ceilings of the theater were hand-stenciled, and stunning stained glass windows can be seen throughout. It is truly a sight to behold. It was such a beautiful Mabel Tainter Theater Wedding.
Dan & Lauren chose classic styling to flow with the elegance of the theater. They chose neutral winter florals with pops of colors for the bouquets, and lush greenery for decor. Dan and the men wore tuxedos, while the bridesmaids wore stunning blush gowns adorned with sequins; perfect for an elegant New Year’s Eve wedding. Dan + Lauren made sure every detail was perfect.
It was a freezing cold day; the regular temperature was -18 and the wind chills were in the -30 below range. The kind of cold that physically hurts to be out in. But we managed to still get a few outdoor images with Dan + Lauren, and with their wedding party. We briefed everyone on what we were going to do, then everyone literally ran outside and we quickly went through about a minute of photos before we had to come back inside to warm up. The last time I saw Dan + Lauren was for their enagement session this past spring, and the weather was definitely MUCH warmer then! You can view photos from their spring engagement session here. It was definitely the coldest New Year’s Eve wedding I’ve ever shot, but I’m so glad everyone was brave enough to get outside for some photos. We had such a great time celebrating with Dan + Lauren, and we wish them all the best for their new journey together!
